Winter’s Last Gasp…..we hope…..

A note for the Queensbury Tuesday class. For the final week of this term, on 5th February, we are painting SNOW…… Any painting medium, plus ink or ballpoint. You can, again, bring a landscape picture for inspiration. From that you can take the form, and we shall make it a wintry scene.

The new term’s schedule will be on the blog, here, at the end of next week. Lovely work today, on shadows and reflections. Well done!

We’ve done snow now, in West Yorkshire. This is a little pen and wash of early summer in our local Judy Woods. Looking forward to those blue skies…..

A note for the Thursday evening class at Queensbury. Next week’s class is now on SNOW! We should be pretty expert in this by now…..😉

Any medium. Bring, if you like, a reference picture, but not containing snow. We’ll add that ourselves.

Tuesday and Thursday daytime classes are, as listed, on caricature. I’ll bring relevant photographs, but do include anything you’d like. Bring a Sharpie or felt tip pen and some cartridge paper.

Our February workshop is Paint it like Turner! .We’ll look at Turner’s technique and try to reflect this in our own painting. You’ll need watercolour paints and brushes; watercolour paper; paper towel; ballpoint pen ( or drawing pen); pencils.

If you’re coming in April, then we’ll be Painting it like Warhol, with an exploration of Pop Art. This time we’re working in acrylic paint. So, bring paint and brushes, at least one biggish brush; black felt tip pen or Sharpie; acrylic paper or board; scissors; glue.

There’s a certain US President who is crying out for the Warhol treatment!

Both workshops are from 10.30 to 2.30 with a light lunch. Just £15, each session,  but, if you’re keen, book now , as there is plenty of interest, and numbers are limited. Call Queensbury with queries or to book on 01274 816748
