Rise above it all…

It’s not possible, is it, to react to all the doomy headlines we read? You’d crawl under the duvet, and not come out for years. We have to roll with the punches a bit for our own survival.

Painting is, for me, part of that survival. When things are grim, it’s not always possible, but on the days that I can manage it, I always, always feel better.

Of course, my Queensbury classes help! We can share tales of doom and gloom together. Doesn’t that sound jolly?! It’s amazing how focusing on a new, exacting topic clears our minds of the tumult, and extracts, from it all, moments of calm.

This was from a week on the effects of moonlight. Soft chalk pastel on rough watercolour paper.
